Mr. G. Krishnakumar, C&MD BPCL, met with Mr. Bhaskar Phukan, MD NRL, in Delhi yesterday. NRL, with which BPCL has exclusive marketing rights to evacuate its petroleum products, is expanding its capacity from 3 to 9MMTPA.
This expansion not only creates new jobs and contributes to economic growth of the region, but also fills the supply-demand gap for petroleum products in the North East.
Exciting opportunities for chemical industries using specialty products as raw materials will also arise.
Present at the meeting were Shri Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries), Shri PS Ravi, Executive Director Incharge (Retail), Shri Dinabandhu Mandal, ED Operations, Retail, and Shri Sreekumar, Chief General Manager, Supply Chain Optimisation.
